Jim: I believe the Bear Stearns conference is next week. I expect news on Adaptec coming from those sessions. Re. Symbios, I would hazard a guess that this is the week we will hear something. Certainty, for or against, would be a big plus. Regarding R&D, I am confident (in the gut) that the company is focusing on the right things. But like you, I would really appreciate insights into those efforts. Judging by the company's reluctance this year to tout its prospects, I am not sanguine we're going to get much positive spin from the execs. We will have to work with the bottom line, whatever that turns out to be. And in the end, that's what counts. Starowl
