If anyone can ever figure out the seemingly random meanderings of the market from hour to hour or day to day, well that would be something.

It seems to me (as a relatively naive observer I will admit), that one needs to have a 1000 or 5000 foot view of this because it all makes sense to me over a longer time period. Some days, the movements of a few tech stocks I look at as general market indicators make some sense and other days not. Each company always has its own situation going on, its business sector, the country in general, the world in general.
All of these can have varying degrees of influence on investor sentiment and the relative weighting of each can change (and I suppose each investor will attribute varying degrees of weighting). This simple explanation might reveal seemingly random short term quirks or the unexplainable. What do you think of that?

PS It's getting late , I am tired and short of sleep this week, so excuse me if this is too contrite and simplistic.
