It is very unlikely that 3 mill went off buy or sell unless it was an arranged trade. Meaning that the MM or MMs and the broker did a deal. The MM's break up a very high percentage of all trades. In fact that is one of my laments and I have called Etrade about it twice. That the MM are breaking up the trades to their own advantage. Meaning that on a 50,000 share buy or sell the MM quickly take 5,000 shares and then execute the remainder at a price and time of their choosing.
