Alya - Echelon:

Alya is licensed to develop applications using LonWorks technology from
Echelon. LonWorks is the defacto standard in the building automation and
process control industries which was developed by Echelon. Alya is a
member of LonMarks Association who is responsible for setting standard
protocols for the computer system that will control the new neuron chips
and devices they are embedded in. Alya is also by invitation of
Echelon, a member of the security task group, which is focused on
developing the LonMark standard functional profiles for intrusion,
access control and CCTV devices and systems (because of Alya's niche in
advanced security management system).

By the way, if you go back on the press releases, you will find that
Gerry Gable who has been with Echelon since 1991 has just joined Alya
this May as part of the sales and management team.

Alya - Motorola/Indala:

Motorola/Indala has extended an agreement with Alya recently (press
release dated June 4/98) to co-develop and market the proximity/access card
readers.

Also, there was an article from previous post #963 that talks about the
Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) (a $2 bil crown
corporation) that has adopted LonWorks based Alya/Motorola-Indala's
proximity access control system.

Hope that helps,

Essam.
