I posted some time back, the legal standard for trademark infringement. It turns on the idea that two names are so similar as to cause confusion. Don't forget that we are talking about registered names here. I cannot find the site with the g added, but if there is such a site, that similarity is insignificant unless it is registered as a trademark.
On the issue of how this company came to be, I can share a bit that I found out, but I will point out that I jut stumbled on this by being in the right place at the right time and it was shared innocently ... Whether or not this really happened this way I do not know, but based on the evidence I have found, I believe it to be basically true ... In the beginning, there was this brokerage house/market maker who was in deep doo doo with the SEC for shorting a lot of stocks, one of which was PRWT. John worked out a deal to cover the shorts in return for ownership of the company ... now I am sure that there is a lot more to the story, but I have been able to follow the trail of names and I believe that in essence this is a true overview. So when he said it was in trade for already issued stocks, he was referring to shares that had been bought but not delivered due to naked shorting.
Someone went to the trouble of posting that the site is under the watchful eye of Ron Soman at PinkPig. While this is true (Heck we knew that from the panam site where Ron is listed as "Manager of Internet Operations") it is also misleading. Ron and his organization are developing the web sites that you can now cruise over to and look at, and will be more on Friday. The trading package which you will download is being developed by another firm. So, please don't flood Ron with a bunch of calls about a product he has an obligation to not talk about directly since someone else's company is doing that. He needs this time to get the site working.
On the issue of the original brokerage house that became AWS, it was not called AWS and following that trail will not lead you to anything at all. No news is good news? But, I have followed the real trail and I will tell you that I liked what I found out. Whatever deal that John worked out with them, their record looks good and does not reflect dirt. Good job John!
As to the company that is doing the trading package, I have these comments: I.T. is NOT their ONLY client. They have a VERY illustrious and impressive list of clients for whom they have developed trading packages. Most of them have been brokerage houses with many sub offices who need a package like this for their remote sites to be able to trade indeppendantly. To analogize, PRWT will be our broker and we will be trading under the license of the company that John aquired for us. We will be like satelite offices of that brokerage house. Does that make sense? If not, ask again and I will try to explain in a better manner. This software development company has been in business for a LONG time and we are NOT getting serial number 1 to be sure!
Lucky ... how about 3 or 4 fingers of Scotch ... I need it! |
