I think this is how it is going to end :

* Secret Service agents' testimony will not lead to anything dramatic.

* Being the android that he is, Starr will continue to do the one thing that he has been programmed to do : try to hunt down Clinton.

* Voters will "tune out" this confusing issue and concentrate on the more relevant issues -- tobacco, HMOs etc. during the coming elections.

*The Republicans will discover to their chagrin that no matter what happens here, it will not buy them anything.

* Seeing that Clinton is more than half-way through his term, the Republicans will decide that any more efforts to oust him will only do them more harm than good.

* Then they will try to "de-program" Starr but will find that he has become "hard-wired" so they will decide to let him run until the batteries are exhausted.

* Monica Lewinsky will pose for the "Playboy" centrespread, after receiving an undisclosed amount of money for doing so. The issue of "Playboy" becomes a collector's item with a possibly good appreciation in price over the years.

* Republicans will decide that it is best for them to fall back on their good old election tactic -- which is to whip up racial hatred among the different ethnic groups in the country.

* Clinton endorses the candidature for Presidency of Vice-President Al Gore, emphasizing that the two key issues for the next century are (a) ethnic conflicts all over the world and their resolution, and (b) the issue of environmental protection on a global scale, and states that Gore is definitely the right man for the job.

Dipy.
