TAX QUESTION....Thanx in advance....

This is the first year in which I traded using real money. I previously just paper traded. Anyway, Do I include the commisions in my capital gains and loses?.... Also, here is an example I have of a question I have:

Suppose I bought 5,000 shares of (some stock) at 0.25
for a total of 1,250 + 8.00 commisions = 1,258

Then I sold only 1,000 shares of the same stock at 0.40
for a total of $400 + 8.00 commissions = $408.00

What would I put down on my taxes? and how did you compute it
the easiest way? Again, thanx in advance... I'm sure if someone can
point me to the answer of this one transaction, I should be able to
figure the rest of them out... I was told that Sure Trade doesn't
send a end of the year statement, so I'll need to check everything.
