A number of months ago - during the Apple AMP rumor excitement the AppleRecon site (http://www.pelagius.com/AppleRecon/ ) issued a long "buy" on Adaptec. I think Adaptec was trading around $20.00 at the time. In their "public brief" Recon said (implied) that with the emerging home internet/AV market - Adaptec had some technologies that put them way ahead of the competition and that these would be used in set top boxes and consumer PC's. I read this to mean that there were new technologies from Adaptec that were potentialy revolutionary. Adaptec bumped into the $22.00 range over the next couple of days and then slid back to $19.00 - thinking this was an opportunity I jumped in......well. Anyone have any idea what these cool, high bandwidth, consumer pricepoint products/technologies might have been and are they still coming? What is R&D working on? Surely, scsi is an ailing technology - not THAT fast and pretty expensive. Can anybody share any forward looking statements on future Adaptec technologies!!!! Regards Hugh Evans
