Hi Dave- I should have guessed that you had it covered! :-)

re: cash... market timing is tough and requires a lot of special incense and spells. Not for everyone, but I keep my hand in. More consistent to already be in the market when the turn comes. Just remember that the inevitable is going to happen: the sector will turn and you'll have "cheap" shares to sell into an advancing market. And you'll have bought right to the bottom. AIM won't let you sell at a loss on a LIFO basis, so yeah... it's painful now but it's going to work in the long run. Mike's portfolio won't be averaging down, so when the first sells come for the AIM portfolio and a profit starts to accumulate, his portfolio will still be looking to break even. It's going to be interesting seeing the comparison on a LT basis.

Remember to go over how to handle a change of stocks in the AIM portfolio: keeping the same account value and PC, etc. I think Tom addressed that in his FAQ.

Btw, I subscribed to his free n/l and found the archive. Glad you decided to do this because I'm learning about something I've been ignorant of too long.

Bruce
