Ok, here is some evidence: cardinal.com The key points from this article are: 1) IBM was able to sell 500,000 before the Netstation was even officially announced 2) Response was so good that the '96 production capacity was all used up 3) Most of those 500,000 IBM Netstations are replacing PCs.
