Hi everyone, just thought I might try to clear up some things about MM's. First YDSA had been here and then stopped making this indicates he has a seller, MM's that come and go are not buying for there own inventory and if they were buying for someone else in this instance they would not register to make and then leave, they would use a wholesaler. There is no way for us to access a list of inventories ir short positions by MM. As an MM they can trade a security anyway they choose, keeping there positions flat or by buying/selling from there own inventory. This is there advantage and why we must try to speculate on trends, not on why the individual MM is doing this or that. Often MM's short stock more for trading purposes then because they don't like it. Remember that they are trading these millions of shares each day and are pocketing the spread, they don't need to take in large inventory positions because they are making plenty doing virtually riskless transactions. We as buyers/sellers are the ones with the risk...
