Thought I'd throw in here on all of this discussion re: fractals (which are pretty!), exponential moving averages (which I did understand), etc.
How about MAD? I've been using Mean Absolute Deviation in my Lotus simulation to help determine optimum safe levels on both sides. I'm not sure how effective they will be in the long run, but I'm actually interested in frequent, somewhat less efficient trades. I figure that even if I spend $12 on a small trade, I can still be ahead by $100 or more each time. My effort to start AIM is directed more in terms of rapid diversification over as many issues as I can afford. In order to do this I need to 'milk the cash cow often'.
In any event, very interesting discussion on tune up parts. Remember when it was just points 'n plugs?
Regards, Steve
