Hi Timester:
Welcome back!
<I am having a hard time really comprehending the huge potential
of these deals in Japan and was wondering if anyone had any idea on the number of orders that could be realized from just the Hino engine alone and what profit ATF could garner. I have traveled in Asia and the Hino name was very prominent. >

It is hard to comprehend and the potential there is certainly enormous. There is a huge market for both the retrofit and OEM applications in Japan and Asia.
There are approx. 18 million diesel powered engines in Japan alone.
AFS is the only company who holds the Ministry of Transport approval for diesel duel fuel systems/conversions in Japan. This is a solid endorsement in itself as the Japanese are tagged as having the highest quality standards in the world in the automotive industry.
Hino is one of the largest engine builders in the world and has held the top position in Japan for 25 years. They are also a leader
in producing low environmental impact vehicles. Several Asian countries are required to meet Euro 2 emission standards too.
There is ongoing negotiations with several engine manufacturers with the intention to lead to sales of the AFS-DDF-SC system for buses and trucks at the OEM level throughout Asia.

The ECO 2000 plan which the Japanese government initiated translates to construction of 2000 ECO stations in Japan which would have the ability to fuel 400,000 vehicles. AFS expects to capture a large percentage of the vehicles targeted for conversion.
I don't know how many CNG stations have been built to date in Japan. The Japanese opportunities in retrofits alone could lead to revenues in the tens of millions in the near term.
In addition new duel fuel engines are being jointly developed for Isuzu and Mitsubichi. All of these companies have a sales network of over 130 countries.

The new Low Emission Vehicles being introduced could push things forward very quickly with the gov't subsidies available as well.
All in all, discounting the rest of the world, the Japanese deals could be staggering.
Thanks for the info on the 'letter of intent' and how binding it actually can be.
No doubt Mr. Sillcox's appointment is an important fit in the the company's future success and I do believe momentum is quickly building and they are about to take wing.
Best wishes to you,
Bonnie
