Of course it's never appealing to profit on the miseries of others but such is far from the case here.

Incidentally, guilt over making money in a somewhat zero sum game such as this is a classic Christian problem...it contributes in a subliminal way to failure.

The U.S. Markets rose in spite of global economic concerns.

That is to say, the markets were driven by greed in the first place and the profits you acquire come from those who would see it spiral higher...no matter what is happening with respect to economic underpinnings.

In short, I always think of it like this. Merrill Lynch pays my salary. Takes the Christian guilt out of play.
