Jim, I agree that it is important to watch Japan. If the Japanese can't solve their financial problems, we can't expect Venezuela, Russia, Hong Kong and other countries to do so.

I do see money continuing to be invested in American stocks that are concidered "safe." Drug stocks without high PEs, with solid pipelines, good management and healthy balance sheets are one area to look for investments. Food companies with similar criteria are another avenue. The utility stocks are already on a roll.

Your strategy for trading the S & P short term is very practical. There's always a way to play.
