Growth value,My guess is that it will be a positive call. Otherwise why have it. It's not like they were asked to do this...at least to my knowledge. It's probably to reassure the investment community that PSFT is on track and that they are not seeing a weakness in the market due to y2k or whatever the reason. Keep in mind that PSFT never did this before because they didn't have to. Now maybe they think the stock has dropped to ridiculous levels that warrant a discussion with analysts. Anyway, this is just my own perspective. But remember...they don't HAVE to do this.

I seriously doubt psft would consider having their first conference call ever if they thought something they would say would not be positively reflected in the stock. Otherwise, why have it.

With respect to Michelle saying there are consultants on the beach...the only comment I want to make about this is that I think we all at times make general statements based on what we hear from one or a few people. Right after she made that comment I thought someone said they just saw an ad somewhere looking for consultants. I don't get the feeling this is a problem spanning the entire organization. If anything, I get the feeling that the reverse is still true. They are actually hiring/looking for consultants so why would they do that if the ones they have were on the beach. When you think about it, why would it be that companies like SAP and ITWO can't find enough consultants to handle the demand whereas psft has consultants with nothing to do. Just doesn't make since. This whole consulting issue is very much an industry wide issue.

Well, in any case, I guess we'll know more in less than 24 hours.
