Uh, did I answer your question? I am getting old. A stop is triggered when the market hits or passes through it. You can get filled anywhere. But at least you are in the queue....if you have to do it by phone you may get better, you may get much worse. Like I tried to say, it's just precautionary to protect a DAY TRADE, not a positional one. Day traders don't care if they are right or not, they just want to make money.
