Take it where you believe the most good will be done.

However, My thought was to focus on the issues uniquely facing us as an SI community. Certainly the SI community is part of many larger communities and, as Bill Jackson shows so eloquently in his post, I do not think it wise to make an artificial separation between then. Use your interpretation of the subject header as your guide.

You may enjoy seeing, Family Name, the winner of the 1997 Sundance Freedom of Expression award. It airs this week on many PBS TV stations in the U.S. on Tuesday, September 15. As a child growing up in North Carolina, Macky Alston never gave much thought to the fact that many of his black schoolmates shared his last name. He latter found out that he and all those other Alstons shared more than just a name.
