No, but I thought that greeny did get an interesting post from the US embassy down there.

Thank you for your email requesting information on PanAmerican Bancorp and its claim on the internet that it is licensed to conduct mortgage banking in Belize. The Government of Belize (GOB), through a press release first issued on July 16, 1998, stated, in part, that "the Ministry of Home Affairs and Housing wishes to inform the public that the Government of Belize is in no way associated with this company nor has it given the company any mortgage guarantees ... the ministry is not aware of any mortgage applications being processed by this company nor of any licence having been issued to the company by the Central Bank of Belize to conduct mortgage banking..." You asked if this release was politically motivated in view of the August 27 general elections. Seems not, as just yesterday (9/16) the new administration of the then opposition party issued a similar press release denying PanAmerican Bancorp's claim about the mortgage banking licence in Belize. I hope this information is useful to you. If I can be of further assistance to you in this or in any other matter, please feel free to contact me. I will say that your attempt to substitute personal attacks on me for argument of the facts, says volumes about you though. |
