Patrick, don't worry about the merits or lack thereof when it comes to Schwab. I did not mean for it to be such a big deal. I am happy with them and they have been great when it comes to providing me service. I suppose you are right about providing preferred service to the more active traders--which I certainly am. I'll cease this discussion as well -- I am sure that there are other outfits that are equally good, if not better. In fact, it is not often that I place a market order when it comes to options--I do so only with a naked position that is going against me and if the market is moving very fast--otherwise the MMs just screw one on the spread with market orders.
