SCI Expects September Quarter Revenue May Be Somewhat Below Expectations; Earnings Expectations Unaffected

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Sept., 23 /PRNewswire/ -- SCI Systems, Inc. (NYSE: SCI - news) said today, that based upon shipments to date, its current September quarter revenue estimates may be below analysts' expectations by a single digit percentage. Timing of various customer shipment releases is the primary factor involved.

While the quarter is not complete, and accurate accounting data is obviously not available, current earnings per share estimates for the quarter approximate ''street'' expectations. A variety of factors have contributed to the apparent estimated profit margin increase.

SCI Systems sees Q1 revs below estimates

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Sept 23 (Reuters) - SCI Systems Inc. said on Wednesday that based upon shipments to date, revenue for its first
quarter ending in September may be below analysts' expectations by a single digit percentage.

The diversified electronics company said in a statement that the timing of various customer shipment releases was the primary factor involved.

The company said its first quarter earnings per share should be in line with Wall Street estimates of about $0.45, according to a First Call Corp. survey.
