I too have read about the demagraphic trend. I am sure it will effect
the market over the next ten years. But so will interest rates, real estate
(if real estate catches on again less money will flow into the market),
taxes(if they change inheritance or other tax structures), change in technology
. . . The key to learn from demagraphics is not what the baby-boomers
will invest/remove from the market but what they will buy/use over a few
year period. For example, when they retire in huge numbers, REITS which
own retirement homes will do well as will land prices in the sun belt.
Now they are saving and spending(notice that luxury goods have
been selling like hot-cakes this year).
