I have heard several theories on the long term trend of the market. Some say this market is being pushed higher due to baby boomers putting money into the market for retirement (IRA's). They know they don't have enough money to retire so they are trying to play catch up. I heard that this market momentum could last for 10-15 years ( this is when the majority of the baby boomers have retired and are living off of their IRA's)and then flatten out for a significant period. Other sources say Generation X & the baby boomer kids are and will be more apt to start saving at an earlier age. This will counteract or soften the effect of the " baby boomers retirement" blow on the market. Please give me your thoughts on this subject.
