It is certainly true that many "boomers" are more market savvy than their elders. Many more of my contemporaries are active investors than my parents generation. But, there are more factors driving this "Irrational exurberence" (apologies to Mr. Greenspan!), than just the boomers. I think the increase in foreign investors is very significant. The ease with which non citizens can now invest in American markets, driven by their outperformance of other national markets, has added a whole new element to this historic bull market. What I wonder, is just how much profit is enough for the established investors out there. I have reaped amazing gains in my stock equity over the past 3 years. I just don't want to let all that "paper" profit lie there unprotected for too long.
Not to start a rush, but, I have finally decided to cash out 70% of my holdings. Maybe I could make more if I stayed in, but, why be overly greedy.
