I remember that, it was '94(?) wasn't it? There was a speaker at this seminar who advised (amongst other things) that we NEVER trade lumber unless we have a hook in the pit.

Evidently, it is a commodity which by it's very nature takes out the smaller, less informed player as a matter of principle.
