Fred -- it is really a function of how much pain one can take before it works out. Rather unlikely that we are going to go straight up from here and I think your cycles guy is looking for a significant top of sorts soon, right?? Re the XAU, that is without a doubt the worst timing that I have ever had when taking a significant position. It has made me quite gun-shy about trading that index. I am going to sell a couple of mining stocks and take a tax-loss and immediately switch the funds into other mining stocks. If I don't do that I know that it will probably mean that one day later the XAU will rocket up leaving me with only a partial position:)
