Hi Tom -

From the date on your note, I see that too much time has passed since I checked in here. Shame on me. I get sloppy when things are under control.

In the recent market downdraft I only got two buy signals on one fund and one on another. I think that affirms what some pundits are saying about how low it "should" go. By traditional standards, the market isn't fairly priced until the DOW hits the mid 6000s. I still kinda think it will go lower once the knee-jerk reaction to lower interest rates fades. But what do I know? I'm really happy to have AIM and the Idiot Wave do my thinking for me.

Overall, I'm still too much in cash. Still the buy signals were nice.

I've taken up stamp collecting for my new hobby. Research is showing it to be a horrible investment though. During the hyper inflation of the late 70s, when everyone wanted tangible investments, there was a
speculative bubble worthy of Dutch Tulips. Prices have not yet recovered their highs, the hobby is in disrepute and price increases are not keeping up with inflation.

I'm still wondering why there is so little in the media about the on-coming EURO. If, as touted, it replaces the dollar as the international currency of choice, many trillions of dollars are likely to come home. If they do, we'll all be better off with Confederate money. Maybe it's time for precious metals under the bed.

Enough blathering for now.
