Morning Patrick --glad that you ended up having an up day after the dry spell that you've been through.

It is frustrating when one goes through these patches and I know that from experience.

Re systems and adapting it to changing markets, I think that I saw some discussion re this on the thread. I guess that I have a contrary view -- I don't adapt a system to the changing character of the market --I think that there is a danger of curve-fitting when one does that. I am convinced that a stable system will withstand any market albeit with periods of draw-down. The system that I am currently using to trade the spoos, bonds and currencies is essentially the same system that I have used since 1985--with minimal changes in the parameters. In fact, I have resisted tampering with the system to enhance it based on current market dynamics. IMO, the key to a stable system is one that performs well through a variety of markets and over a sufficient length of time -- 10 years is the minimum that I find acceptable -- where one will have experienced uptrends, downtrends and non-trending situations.

I know that there are others who disagree with me on this and am not looking to start a discussion per se.

I am headed out for my morning walk and will be back before the market opens.
