Actually the bid counter is registering on the LOW side. Things are better than you think.

For starters, bid manager counts as one bid(per customer), even if it makes 27 bids on the way from $1 to $1,000.

Secondly - Quick Buy is gaining steam fast. It accounted for 10% of all sales last quarter in a very short time. In that case only 1 bid
is registered for each ITEM sold, dramatically lowering overall bids.

It has not been the easiest thing to relate the bid counter over time
as methods change. This quarter the bid rate has actually slowed somewhat, but it is very misleading as Onsale has moved a much greater
portion of sales to Quick Buy based on last quarter's results.
