Morning Patrick, Nemer and all

Looks like we are headed for a large gap open this am to the upside. I would not short this one for two reasons--first, because the gap is in the direction of the trend --my buy signal-- and second, a quick look at the SPX chart shows relatively little resistance until the 1110-12 level and so we could be looking at a break-away gap or sorts. I'd suggest that the way to play this would be to go long at the 1100 level on the spoos.

Re the emission test, thanks for the tip; the component of the test that it failed was the NO (nitrous oxide) level. Is this one of the things that is affected by a cold engine?? I called the guy who used to take care of my cars in LA and he said it was most likely something to do with the ignition timing or something pertaining to the exhaust which he called the ERG. The service station that performed the test said that they could check into it further but I declined since I did not think that they had the expertise to deal with the car. Unfortunately, I don't know any outfit here to take care of it so I'll probably end up having to take it to the dealer--which I generally try to avoid for obvious reasons.

Nemer, Paris. Tx and its priorities have much to say for it -- I agree that any car that does not have anything obviously wrong is probably one that should pass all tests. In CA, the inspection sites used to commonly have a sign that said "No pass, no pay" -- never knew quite what they were trying to get at -- but every time I took the cars for testing they passed the test -- so I never could find out how that worked.
