Nice day on the ranch. I had a sell order open on 5% of my EGRP and someone obliged. I've been waiting for a sell since mid-July and they liked it enough to pay 18-7/16. In fact, my order was for 18-3/8, so they even paid for my commission and provided a nice LIFO gain of 22%. I set a new limit order to 19-1/2 hoping that I might get a sell again next week, but before I could check the Status to confirm I'd entered the order right, that order filled too! It was a nice boost for moral, but I still have a significant way to go to recoup cash reserve which is now a meager 17%. With EGRP still planning on a couple more quarters of negative earnings, I can't believe this rally is long lived.
Then I got the news I had a buyer for some OMQP, so I got a fill on that order. They were so pleased that instead of paying my asking price of 13-7/8, they insisted on paying 14-3/8. That's probably the best fill I've ever gotten on a limit order! Not to mention a nice FIFO (& LIFO) gain of 45%. I reset my order for OMQP at the same time I did the EGRP order and, like EGRP, I got a fill before I could do the check. My order was for 14-7/8, but I had another insistent buyer who demanded I take 15-1/4!! This 2nd unplanned fill was a LIFO/FIFO gain of 54%. That gets OMQP to a comfortable (for now) cash reserve, so if I get another price hit at 15-7/8 I can bag a vealie.
Sure pleased that I can finally take part in this rally! I was beginning to worry that it might pass me by. The best news is that I'm now ahead for the year (12/31/97 to 10/31/98) after having hit a low of -22%. I have my doubts that this can sustain thru December, but it would sure be nice if it did...
