I still have a small long position but today looks like a good day to scalp a trade from the short side.

The mental stop on my long is getting close, however. It won't take much to take it out. I'm using, as a stop, a system I put together in the summer. It's been long since SPX 991.71; right now it would close the position if SPX trades at 1121.69

I know you have your methods of reversing but keeping a trade on for several days is very unusual for me, and I had to come up with something to provide a exit. This seemed as good as any.
