Still an amazing statement.

But considering that Solectron seems to be passing SCI as the largest EMS provider, and is extending and tapping into new outsourcing markets the others can't seem to penetrate (Japanese companies and NCR), I can understand why the market would want to award them a premium valuation. I just think this valuation is extreme, and prefer to put my assets in the up and comers FLEX and JBL.

On the Solectron thread, they apparently said in an analyst meeting that they will do $20B in revenues by 2001. If they do, the growth in this sector is going to be huge, much bigger than most forecasts. It should actually help the sector, because SLR is bringing new customers and business into the sector.
