Comments by Montgomery Securities:

"For his part, Nationbanc Montgomery Securities analyst Steve Horen believes investors are buying Onsale's shares Tuesday because they are cheap relative to many other electronic commerce stocks. He noted that Onsale's shares are trading at 2.6 times his 1999 revenue estimate of $350 million, while Amazon's shares are trading at a multiple of 12 and eBay's are trading at a multiple of about 100. This may be because Onsale has been somewhat overlooked during the electronic commerce group's recent run-up. While Onsale's shares had doubled to close to 30 as of Monday since the start of the month, eBay's shares surged from about 80 to nearly 195 during this same period.

"Onsale is finally getting the recognition it deserves," Horen said. "It got discovered."
