I had trouble with Discover on Monday. Their order system was not working properly. I had a day stop order from Friday that should have expired but, for some reason didn't and was in some kind of order limbo that interfered with my playing a new stop order on Monday. By the time the stop was finally placed the stock had dropped passed it. This was not just a slow server but a flawed one. I spent many hours on the phone, mostly on hold, spoke to three brokers, a tech guy, and finally got to speak to a broker supervisor. After a short conversation they credited me with a fill at the stop.

One thing I did during the day Monday was to print out the orders information as evidence of what had transpired. This was important because, at first it showed my new stop order as processing and then as placed. Later the order showed as rejected.

Persistence on the telephone might pay off.

I use to think their system was OK for position trading but I no longer believe that. I guess I have to move that account.

Good luck,
Bob
