<<Im just saying that fundamentally, business to business auctions are not a good idea for mainstream mfg.>>

it's a new phenomenon, business to business auctions which appear to be working soundly in Japan through Softbank and ONSL (currently it consists of PC parts, PCs, and software). consider the categories being developed by ONSL for such auctions. we're talking about suppliers to merchandising agents and/or the end user bypassing the merchandising agent to access the goods directly from the manufacturer. farmers pay a high commission when purchasing chemicals from the merchandising agent. he could save funds by going directly to the manufacturer. it's a niche market for which, i believe, there would be significant demand.
