I spent many summers on the Chesapeake when I was a pup, crabing sailing and carrying on. My Dad instructed at the Naval Academy before moving to the Pentagon so I know the area well. I missed the Annapolis boat show in Oct. damn it! I think that the X-mas lighted boat show parade should be comming up this weekend or next, if memory serves so get your ass off this puter and start decorating your boat or at least get down there and toss a few back with the salts and tell some lies If ya tip a few at Riordan's in the square tell em' that BOOPER (me old nickname) say's fuck the lot of you!! Mind you that you will either have your ass kicked or drinks on the house. That's just how it was for me.......
Since the statute of limitations is long since gone, I will tell you another short bedtime story. Over the Severn river bridge from the Academy was the Severn River Inn well know for it's tasty crab recipies at the time. Wellllllllll, to make a long story short, me and my desperado friend used to camp on the hill near the restaurant and watch their crab boats travel to and fro from their crab traps like clockwork only to be a tad disappointed with the evenings catch. We on the other hand had bushels of the little crustacians happy to donate to the restaurant in exchange for anything on the menu for the entire weekend. Me and my friend did this for a couple of years and I am now very thankful that those fisherman never put paws on us for robbing them there crab pots
Rocket, don't get me wrong, me and my friend served our country and became corp. officers and Don even has 5 kids YIKES!!! Hell, I may even give the rascal a call tonight! He has a mansion on a golf couse at Rehobeth Beach! Sorry for the ramble but I had a few good memories Happy Holidays....Garry |
