ok...here goes nothing...
a challenge has been laid down...you guys are so happy with insider trading, but none of you will use it...it costs too much...the services are cheaper elsewhere...that kind of stuff is being said to you in a silly manner of put up or shut up...
given just a twinkling of thought, it is not that simple...
my opinion is this...relatively speaking, very few people have the time, nor the inclination, and especially the knowledge or the desire to trade in level 2...though it is true that more and more people are trading online, still the greatest majority of people doing anything at all in the stockmarket are using their private brokers, just as they have been doing for decades...this is changing, on a daily basis, but there is still a long way to go for this to be the norm, rather than the exception...
a person who is going to get into level 2 and use it to their advantage, is going to have to make it their full time job, or they are going to have to be one who has enough money to have the best of everything, no matter how often, or how little they use it...
the insider trading sites are going to be out of geographic access to almost everyone...those who have an i.t. site near their homes can use it here and there, but the greatest majority of the citizens are too far removed from these sites to participate...
level 2 is in no way designed for the masses...the people, like the greatest majority of us who dabble...level 2 is for those who wish to make multiples of trades on a daily basis...
insider trading is different from other services...other services are different from their other competitors as well...some people will like one, some the other...
the value of insider trading, or level 2 in general, is to those who have the time, the money, but most importantly, the reason to use it...it is the wave of the future though, and eventually, the use will grow in leaps and bounds...there are fortunes to be made there, but the people, as a whole, do not even know about it...we will get our share of those that do...
