Paul, My mother used to buy stocks by visiting stores and buying the stocks of the products or retailers that impressed her. Doesn't sound very scientific but it worked for her ...worked real well.

Here's the point. I just the other day went to the Pac Bell Wireless store to buy my college age daughter her own Cellphone so I could use my own once in a while. There was no special ad in the paper although is seems that every other page in the LA Times has some kind of Cellphone for sale. You would have thought they were giving away phones! Come to think of it; with most plans they are! There was a long line out the door and it took an hour or so for the clerk in the store to reach customer service to begin our service.

And who builds all these phones that people are going crazy to buy?? Guess! Give up? It's all of our ECMs. SLR builds the Ericksons ( They took over that plant in Europe I believe) and PGTZ and some others build phone related equipment for Motorola and others. Sanmina does the same for Nortel and so does Jabil.

I haven't been to a computer store lately but I see all the internet ads and cheap prices so I think PCs are likely selling like hot cakes, I mean like cellphones too. We shouldn't be too surprised at the great earnings and revenue growth coming out of the group. I think I'll call Mom and suggest she visits a phone store.
