One reason for Amazon's amazing climb must have something to do with their system of paying commissions on some e-commerce transactions to companies and individuals furnishing links to their site. Consider the deal with Apple Computer. Those highly popular iMacs with OS 8.5.1 have the new Sherlock search engine as part of the OS. Links to Amazon.com initiated by the search engine, that result in an e-commerce transactions, result in a commission to Apple. macweek.zdnet.com CDNW needs to address this competitive edge ASAP.
