Hi Rob, Did you folks get socked by this storm? We were in Wadsworth, IL overnight on the first and drove home yesterday through the mess. In the first 5 minutes on I94 we saw 3 cars in the ditch! We exited I94 at Ryan Road and drove US 41 into Milwaukee and then US 32 and old Port W. Road into town. Much safer than being out there with the numbskulls on the interstate. My guess is that over a foot of snow fell yesterday. I haven't been out to clear the walks or steps yet as I'm waiting for the plow guy to come by first. Temp. dropped to about 15F over night.
I like the looks of your intro page. I think I mentioned that I use the MSMD method of building web pages - Monkey See, Monkey Do!! this has worked quite well for me over the years. If I find something that I like, I go take a look at the Source Code and see just how it was accomplished.
If you are interested in people other than the AIMers here finding your page, I'd suggest that you make a couple of minor changes that will help the search engines. Change your title to read <TITLE>LICHELLO - AIM</TITLE> as many of the searches that find my pages seem to include Mr. L's name.
Another help for the search engines is to add a line with a meta description comment - such as: <META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="LICHELLO"> <META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="AIM"> <META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="AIM INVESTING">
Some engines just look at the meta names, some just the title. Some look at the first paragraph and some search deeper. If you manage to sneak Mr. L's name in to each category, it will give your site a better chance of being found and also give a higher "score" on those engines that rate the site.
I certainly appreciate the added charts for others to see. Anyone else that wants to do this sort of thing I'll appreciate as well. I think it adds to our overall credibility to see the application of AIM to new areas of the market and that it's worked for many of us.
On this general subject, I sincerely believe that there's not enough insurance in the world that could be bought that would make up for the lack of knowledge of how to manage money in general and specifically investments. This is why I've taught the basics to my wife and to my oldest daughter so far. My youngest is next in line, but she needs to get at least to high school before I start.
Knowing they have at least the basics down is a form of "insurance" that has much more meaning for me than just $$$. I still get questions like, "Yes, I understand that it works, but how did you pick the stock/fund in the first place?" That's tougher than teaching the basics of AIM's mechanics or market psychology. It's what we attempt to share here on the BBs.
So, thanks again for adding to the public knowledge of AIM's success. I encourage all of you to take the time in 1999 to teach your loved ones the basics of AIM. You will all sleep better in the new millennium!!
Best regards, Tom |
