Luanne, choosing your broker is a big deal. If you are choosing between ABW and MBT then I would guess, you have already done a good job of sifting through the chaff.
I have been trading an account @ MBT for just one year now.
I really only have good things to say. Because we are dealing with the internet, you cannot expect 100% perfection. However, IF you take it upon yourself, to learn everything you can to establish a solid internet connection from your home to the quote machines, you should enjoy a very stable trading system.
Half the battle is to go ahead and ASK questions when you need help. The MBT staff is growing, so I have not spoken to all of them, but the people that has helped me, have been really great to me. These people know their stuff and have a great attitude towards the traders.
Now that the commission rates have dropped, there is little reason to avoid going with the best.
MB Trading was the first and really is the only broker that maintains a real-time chatroom for MB clients to stay in contact with the MB Staff. The chatroom is a great way to get quick answers to any tech issues, updates on any internet or exchange related information and perhaps more importantly a sound board for traders to swap tips and tricks for using the Real Tick III software and the execution systems.
MB Trading really sets the standard for customer service.
MB Trading costs a nominal amount more than the cheapest trading broker and is less expensive than many.
Remember, cheap is not always smart. 1998 saw a few Day Trading firms bite the dust.
I don't see MBT ever suffering that fate.
I feel very comfortable that MB Trading is going to successfully navigate the choppy waters of the trading brokerage industry for years to come. I have tremendous faith in Ross Ditlove and Steve Demarest.
You need to make yourself completely comfortable with your choice. Whatever firm you choose, it should feel like a partnership. If your relationship with a broker is adversarial and full of mistrust, I think you are not with the right broker, or you need to make a career change.
I have had and am having a great experience with MBT, I don't think I am alone.
Good luck!
