Well, don't feel so bad about missing the bottom. Who in their right mind would have thought a company with 22% of the worlds wafer market would have gone to 2 and change.

However, I am not in total agreement with you about the recovery time. Total silicon demand is still going up. PC's are selling very good with the inexpensive units leading the way. At the same time Hatachi has exited the stage and there will inevetably be the shut down or reduced production at their previous facilities.

A lot of analysts are stating that this year will be the return of the basic commodity electronic manufacturers. Asia is recovering and is at least stable, and Europe if booming. DRAM prices are actually starting to go up. I have to think that wafers cannot be too far behind. And I also think that once the trend does turn up, it will accelerate upward as no one is going to put any money into building a wafer plant or even bringing an idled one on line until its absolutely proven that there is no way they are going to lose money on it. By than it will be too late and prices will be through the roof.

I'm not saying this will happen tomorrow, but I would not be suprised to see MEMC at 18 or 20 by the end of the year if not before.

I guess we will see come earnings release what the company says.
