Michael,

I can't argue with you on the points you make. Every investor has to go with whatever strategy works for them.

The point I made on the TDFX thread was that I put a very small portion of my portfolio into some high flying internet stocks. It's been a wild ride.

I still do a Foolish Four and hold DELL and TDFX (ouch).

I am now in the Internet business and am afforded the luxury of watching developments rather closely. I would recommend just taking 2-5% and placing it in an Internut of your choice and watch the fireworks. My original motivation for jumping in and throwing caution to the wind was the raging envy I had for the bozos who were doubling their portfolio every week. At least now I can enjoy the gains and also stomach the losses as it's a small portion of my overall portfolio. I've lost more in TDFX in 1998 than I have invested in Internets.

If it's still not for you then I'm glad that you have your priorities straight. I felt that I needed to clarify the Pro side of the Internet argument from this conservative investor's point of view.

Regards,
Stuart
