According to the example in the aplication: "At the time of service, simply present your Powerx card. The participating physician/hospital will verify your eligibility. No payment is required at the time of service. Your bill will be repriced to reflect your Powerx savings and the reduced amount will be charged to your line of credit." I see no reason why the participating physician couldn't just knock off the discount and receive payment in some other form at the time. I suppose if you joined up with Powerx but didn't qualify for the line of credit, you could still get the benefits so long as you paid the membership fee. 800-421-4943 is company number if you're interested.
