Tom, We talked about cable modems vs. xDSL over copper wire to try to get higher internet access into the home on this thread a while back. Looks like after some fits and starts, the baby bells are starting to fight back before the cable modem is installed to any large degree. Look at this article: dailynews.yahoo.com and this one: dailynews.yahoo.com A little followed telco equipment manufacturing company makes these xDSL modems. Westell is the company and they have a website at westell.com . All sorts of last mile solutions. Recent deal with GTE (which is being bought by Bell Atlantic) is also on the website. Bought some today at 8 1/8. Might be worth a look... ---- Dave
