It is not a question of bitterness towards a company, true, there are a select few that HAVE options, and still there are many that HAVE NOT. Makes no difference whether you perform or not. The HR issues are terrible, job slotting, budgeting, the list goes on with the acquisitions. I dont think its a question of cushy, it's more like, what do you get as a new employee from an acquisition? The benefits VARY Drastically from UUNET, WCOM, ANS , SNS, MCI and so on.

True, if you are a select few, or have been positioned with the right organization within WCOM, you may be fairly wealthy by todays standards for a typical option holder, however, within the company, NOT ALL Employees are created equal, so to speak.....
