Bad week for some of my ECM picks; SFLX and FLEXF

Well I blew the market reaction to SFLX's earnings report. Also FLEXF, my long term favorite in this sector has had a bad time since its earnings report. I am not sure either report justifies the sell-offs.

If you've been following the Centennial Technologies (CTN) thread, you know that I've been bearish on that stock, and its been trashed over the last four weeks. The only analyst who had a recommendation (and it was Strong Buy) on CTN was Needham's John McManus. He seems to be pretty respected and widely followed by investors in this sector.

Well he has a Strong Buy on SFLX, and I believe he is recommending FLEXF as well. I wonder if the recent sell-offs in these stocks is related to problems (lack of confidence) stemming from his recommendation of CTN.

My short term stock picking record is patchy, sometimes I hit it right and sometimes I miss something important, like SFLX's component problem. But IMO both of these stocks have much better long term attraction, especially at these prices, than any others in this sector. The only other stock I feel almost as strongly about, based mainly on valuation (versus growth), is DIIG.

Well, I never seem to be able to time my buys at the bottom. I hope we have better luck in future.

Paul
