More Sundance info.

I posted earlier on what I felt was a mediocre crop of films at this year's Sundance Festival. The dollar figures are bearing that out, with the amount being paid for these movies being much lower than previous years. Some claim it is due to the lower quality of the movies, but that just shows me how sharp G-G were to skip the Sundance this year. Too many movies at Sundance were boutique movies with very limited potential audiences. (And hence limited potential profit)

With the hype from the Academy Awards this week, it seems like a perfect time premiere Speedway, and they are doing it in a perfect way. Movie hype is up this week, and there is no competition. It's small, it goes unnoticed, but these decisions are the things that separate G-G from the rest of the field.
