Momentum Trader is currently watching Alternative Fuel Systems (ATF).
Trading on the VSE, this stock has the momentum and we see it easily
hitting $2.60 within the next two weeks. Longer term (3-6 months) we see
ATF trading in the $5-6 range.

Called the "baby Ballard", ATF has made significant progress in the past
two months signing numerous agreements and contracts with some of the
most polluted countries in the world.

Background Information

ATF has developed a solution that has positioned the company on the
cutting edge of the fight to reduce greenhouse gases which include
engine emissions. ATF has developed an innovative fuel injection system
which makes possible the conversion of gasoline and diesel engines to
cleaner burning, economical, compressed natural gas (CNG) without losing
engine efficiency.

Revenue

Signed an agreement on February 3, 1999 in Beijing, People's Republic of
China (PRC) with Mr. Lin Duo, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal
Administration Commission (BMAC). Under the terms of the agreement, AFS
will immediately commence a detailed feasibility study and a pilot
natural gas vehicle (NGV) program for the City of Beijing. BMAC has been
given a mandate by the Beijing People's Municipal Government to develop
and implement a plan to convert vehicle fleets in Beijing from
gasoline/diesel to natural gas (NGV Program). In order to reduce local
air emissions Beijing intends to convert its entire public fleet,
consisting of 5400 large buses, 10,000 microbuses and 60,000 taxis, to
alternative fuels. The conversions are to take place over the next
several years. AFS has been asked to proceed immediately with a
feasibility study and plans for the pilot program, to enable conversions
to be carried out on an expedited basis. The Beijing NGV project is in
addition to and entirely separate from AFS's agreement in Sichuan
Shutong, China, where an initial $1.7 million contract to supply NGV
equipment and technology was finalized late last month.

Alternative Fuel Systems Inc. Finalizes China Contract for Natural Gas
Conversion Systems with Sichuan Shutong CNGV Co. Ltd

CALGARY, Jan. 27 /CNW/ - Alternative Fuel Systems Inc. (AFS) and its
agent in Asia, Nippon Ecology Work Systems Corp. (ECOS), has signed a
Dual Fuel Testing Agreement with the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority of
Thailand (BMTA) and the Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT). The
project is funded by PTT and ECOS with technical support provided by
AFS. In response to serious air quality problems in Bangkok, the Thai
Ministry of Industry has assigned PTT the task of expanding utilization
of natural gas as an alternative fuel to reduce vehicular emissions.
The project is expected to lead to wide-scale conversion of gasoline and
diesel engines in Thailand
ATF technology is being implemented as part of a pilot project to
convert large scale numbers of microbuses, a primary method of
transportation in Mexico City. ATF has signed a letter of intent for
converting a minimum of 10,000 microbuses annually to CNG over 10 years.
Phase I covers 1000 conversion kits in a 2 Million contract.

ATF technology is being installed in companies like Northwestern
Utilities to convert gasoline and propane powered industrial fork lifts
to CNG.

Being used by major engine manufacturers like Hino and Daiwoo for CNG
conversion application
